Dear Sherwood Families,
Good evening. We have a few reminders for you for the upcoming week. We will be on Spring Break next week, April 11th through April 15th. Please don't forget to send the stuffed Easter Eggs by Thursday. We will be having our Easter Egg hunt on Friday. There will not be a visit to the library for the month of April. This is due to scheduling and staffing issues at the library. If you have a student in 5th grade please send back the Healthy Kids Survey permission form. They must have permission to take the survey. The information from the survey helps us to make decisions for our site when we create goals as well as Safety Plans. If you have a 7th grade student, you only need to send the permission slip back if you do not want them to take the survey. There is a school board meeting on Wednesday, April 6th at 5:00 pm. Please continue to support your student by reading each night. We look forward to having a great week before enjoying our spring break. Thank you.

Students should be dropped off at the Willits City Park near the Fire Station by 8:30 am. We will be returning to the Willits City Park by 2:30 pm. You will need to pick up your student from the park. Please remember to send your student with a warm coat and good walking shoes as well as a snack and lunch if you have not made arraignments for the school to provide these. Thank you and see you in the morning!
Good Evening Sherwood Families. This is just a reminder to turn in your students permission slip for the Friday field trip to the Botanical Gardens if you have not already done so. Also if you are a parent that is volunteering for this trip you will need to have your Covid test done on Thursday. You can do this in the Sherwood School Office or at the WUSD office in town. Both offices are open from 7:30 to 4:00. We will not have time to do testing on Friday morning before we leave. Thank you and have a good evening.

Greetings Sherwood Families, We had a great week last week. Students were showing more respectful behavior towards each other on the playground. Thank you for having conversations with your student about kind behaviors. Our staff has been passing out "I Sure Woulds" in order to help notice positive interactions and the kids have been loving them. We welcomed a new classroom aide, Rikki. She is a great addition to our team. If you have not returned your Modified Independent Study sheet that we sent home when we closed for COVID, please sign that and send it back in. This signed document will be how your student gets attendance for those days. Also, if your student has been sent a permission slip for counseling, and you are interested, please send the signed permission slip back. Wednesday, March 2nd we have our monthly field trip to the library. Our parent group FOSSI is gathering your family's favorite recipes to make a Sherwood Friends Cookbook as a fundraiser. Please send your favorite recipe with your student to turn in to their teacher by March 7th. We are hoping to get some more recipes turned in! Thank you and have a good evening.
Hello Sherwood Families,
We are happy to announce that we have a school counselor that will be visiting our school 2-3 times per month. His name is Jeff Cramer and we welcome his support. We are also welcoming parent volunteers. Please make sure that you are cleared with the district and fingerprinted. We also ask that all volunteers take a Covid test before going into the classrooms. Please ask your students' teacher for more information about volunteering. We are hoping that there can be some conversations at home about being kind on the playground with both actions and words. We have been having some behaviors that we are addressing at school too. One thing that we have started to do is to pass out tickets called "I Sure Woulds". These tickets are to recognize positive behavior. Students can earn prizes and such. We will also begin to have a Student of the Month in each class. If you haven't signed the Independent Study contract from the days that we had to close school, please sign it and return it to the office. We have more if you have misplaced it. When your student is home from school, make sure to call Heather to clear the absence. There are only three more weeks until the end of the second trimester! Check in with your student about missing work, or any make up assignments. We thank you for your support as we are all working hard to make this school year wonderful. Thank you and good evening. Ms. Erickson
