Good Evening Sherwood Families. We have unfortunately had more positive cases of Covid-19 reported to us in Ms. Julie's K-2nd Grade class. Due to the increasing number of cases in this classroom, Public Health has mandated testing of all students in Ms. Julie's class during this time. Students will also need to mask for a period of 10 days while in the classroom. We will be testing all students in this class tomorrow morning and again on Friday morning. Any family who does not wish to have their student tested, please contact the school office. We will begin testing students tomorrow morning before school starts. Any other students who wish to be tested may also do so at this time. We are still strongly recommending testing for students in Ms. Lisa's class. Hello Sherwood families. We have had additional Covid 19 cases reported in Ms. Julie's K-2nd Grade class. Ms. Lisa's 3rd-5th grade class has several First and Secondary Exposures to Covid. We are highly recommending and encouraging both testing and mask wearing in these classrooms. If you would like to have your student tested today, please call the office at 707-984-6769. We will have testing available in the school office daily in the mornings for this week. We are asking all families to please screen your students before sending them to school. Students who have symptoms should stay home and are highly recommended to take a Covid test before returning to school. We have take home Covid tests available in the office for your family. Good evening Sherwood Families of students in Ms. Julie's Kindergarten through Second Grade Class. Last Friday we had a significant classroom exposure to Covid-19. Due to this we are offering and encouraging Covid testing for our students. We will have Covid testing available in the office before school on Monday and again on Wednesday. If your student rides the bus and you would like them to be tested, please call ahead to notify us or send your student with a note. We will also be offering masks to any student who wishes to wear one during this time. We are encouraging mask wearing through at least Wednesday. Please continue to monitor your student for symptoms and keep them home if they are ill. If families would like free take home Covid tests at any time, they are available in the school office. Hello Sherwood Families. Either on Thursday or Friday your student was sent home with an Educational Benefits form. This form is very important as it helps to provide the funding necessary to ensure maximum support services for your student and our local schools. We need one form filled out by each family. You may list all of your students on one form. Please return the form to the Sherwood Office by Friday, October 21st. All students who return this form by Friday will get to pick out a goody from our prize box. If your student did not receive a form, it means that you have already completed this form online. Good evening Sherwood Families. Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 12th, is our field trip to Pirate Pete's Pumpkin Patch. All students will need to meet at the Willits City Park by 8:30 a.m. to catch the bus. There will be no regular morning bus services. We will be returning to Sherwood School before lunch. Good evening Sherwood Families. Next week is Parent Teacher Conference Week. Every day will be an early release day. School will get out each day of the week at 1:30 p.m. We will be having a field trip to Pirate Pete's Pumpkin Patch on Wednesday, October 12th to pick our pumpkins for our Pumpkin Carving Contest. All students will need to meet at the Willits City Park by 8:30 a.m. There will be no regular morning bus service. Our normal bus schedule will resume for the afternoon. Make-up Picture Day will be on October 17th. If you need an order form or have questions please contact the Sherwood office. Good afternoon Sherwood Families. Tonight is our Back to School Night. We will begin at 5:30 p.m. around the picnic tables with a welcome greeting from our principal, Mr. Beebe. After that adults will head to classrooms to meet with teachers for a short presentation. We will be providing child care on the yard for our students and their siblings while adults meet in the classrooms. Our teachers will be having at second round of presentations starting at 6:00 p.m. for families with students in different classrooms. The school office will be open as well if you would like to clear unverified absences, turn in immunization records or if you have any questions. We are looking forward to seeing you tonight!

This is just a reminder that Back to School Night has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, September 28th, at 5:30 p.m. We will be meeting together for a welcome greeting at 5:30 before adults head to classrooms to meet with teachers. We love our parent volunteers. If you would like to be a volunteer, you will need to have fingerprint clearance through Willits Unified School District before you can work with students or go on field trips. Please contact the Sherwood Office or the District Office for more information. All finger printing fees are reimbursable through FOSSI. Sherwood Picture Day will be on October 4th. Hello Sherwood Families. The structure fire that was north of the school has been contained. Fire crews are still on site to do clean up. Hello Sherwood Families. There is currently a structure fire north of Sherwood School. Crews are on the fire site and are working on containment. Per the Sheriffs department we are currently not at risk to evacuate. As a precaution we are having a bus come up to Sherwood School. In the event of an evacuation we will send out a notification to our families. We will update you as the situation progresses. The California Department of Education (CDE) uses the Education Benefit Form to calculate supplemental funding for our schools which is built into the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). This Friday, August 19th, we will be having an Open House Meet and Greet from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to visit your student's classroom and me their teacher before the first day of school on Monday, August 22nd. Good evening Sherwood Families. We are very excited to soon be starting the 2022/2023 school year. The first day of school will be August 22nd. School begins at 8:30 a.m. and will let out at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday will be an early release day. School will get out at 1:30 p.m. If you have an incoming kindergartener or 7th grader and have not already done so, please remember that immunization records must be turned into the office before the first day of school. Dear Sherwood Middle School Families. We will be hosting an end of the year party for students in Ms. Marissa's 6th-8th grade class to close out the school year. It will be held on Friday, June 17th from 12:00 till 2:00 at the picnic area of Recreation Grove Park in Willits. We will be serving pizza, cupcakes, snacks and drinks. We will have yearbooks and all personal items that were left in the classroom available for pick up. Please stop by to get these things if you have not already done so. This will be the last opportunity to pick them up. If you already have your yearbook, please bring it with you for your friends and staff members to sign. Hello Sherwood Families. Students in Ms. Marissa's middle school class are welcome to come to school on Friday, June 10th, to clean our their desks and pick up their personal belongings.
